As I sit down to type this very first "blog" I can only consider how very blessed I am, now more than ever before in my life. Inside the depths of my head, run so many thoughts of praise and glory to God for ALL He has accompished in my life. They are too numerous to write here, but for them ALL, I give Him glory and honor.
This is a new journey for me. One that I thought would be a great way to communicate with my family and friends through writing my thoughts and sharing what's going on in my life, as well as share pictures. I have found great joy and encouragement in reading a friends blogspot on a regular basis and thought I'd follow suit. I hope that leaving bits of myself here on this blogspot, I will also encourage each who read these postings.
So, right now, I am caring for my sons children in his home, while he and my daughter-in-law are spending 5 days on St. Lucia. It is an honor to be asked to care for them and to know that they trust me with them. It's a privilege and a joy, although sometimes a struggle and VERY tiring, to care for uthem. As bedtime on day 1 approached, the usual scurrying around began, not to mention the hustling to be the first in the shower, then the first to pick out their clothes for the next day, the first to brush their teeth etc. etc. With kids, everything seems to be centered around "who gets to do it, or gets done doing it first!" As the running around got bigger and their voices got a little louder, Christ reminded me to have patience. In the midst of that, I was throwing a load of laundry in the washer and taking one out of the dryer, the dog was standing at the door to potty and Karli was calling me to come help with her hair please! Then the search for board games began as they were allowed to bring one to school for the last day. Then I hear Butch calling me for help with his "tacky day" clothes outfit for the last day of school. Out of the bedroom he comes with old and too short soccer pants on, a too short purple t-shirt of his sisters, one sock with toes in it and one bright red long sock, one boot and one flip-flop on with the finishing touch to be his gold chain and wrist sweat band!!! :) It was hilarious!! As a matter of fact, he was voted 2nd best "tacky outfit" for the final day. Anyway, as we all settled in to bedrooms, prayers were said, kisses were shared, pillows were fluffed, covers fixed, dog pottied and fed, lights were turned out and finally, it was time for bed for Yaya! Thank you Lord for sustaining this aging body! God is so faithful and I am so blessed to have these precious children in my life. I ask the Lord daily to help me pour Him into their lives and be a mentor to them and a light. For now, I will close as I continue trying to figure out how this whole website thing works! Blessings to all and to all a good night!
